SIOUX LOOKOUT – 4 new forest fires have been confirmed by Friday night in Ontario’s Northwest.
Two of the 4 are listed as not below management, together with a 0.1-hectare hearth, generally known as Crimson Lake 44, positioned 3.5 kilometres north of Joyce Lake and 16.2 kilometres east of Keesic Bay.
Thunder Bay 15, a two-hectare hearth, can be not below management. It’s positioned about three kilometres east of Quetico Provincial Park.
A 0.1-hectare hearth, positioned in Frenchman’s Head, and one other simply south of the Deer Lake Airport are listed as below management.
There are presently 26 energetic wildland fires within the Northwest Area. Two are listed as not below management, two are below management and 22 are being noticed. The hearth hazard stays average to excessive throughout the area.
