The high school basketball season is officially underway with states like Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia already tipping off and the District of Columbia, Illinois, North Carolina and Texas joining the mix this week.

Looking ahead to the top tournaments and events of the season, the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla., and Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., continue to carry the torch by providing a massive platform for the nation’s best players and teams.

Read on for a look at over 100 of the top events from coast-to-coast scheduled for the coming months.

13-15 — Hoopfest Basketball Invitational (Houston, Texas)

14-15 — Noble Classic Tip-Off (Arlington, Texas)

Allen (Texas), Brennan (San Antonio, Texas), Little Elm (Texas), Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, Texas), Martin (Arlington, Texas), Memorial (Frisco, Texas), Steele (Cibolo, Texas) and The Colony (Texas) headline the showcase.

14-15 — Phenom Hoops Tip-Off Classic (Davidson, N.C.)

Top teams participating in the event include Ambassador Christian (Huntersville, N.C.), Combine Academy (Lincolnton, N.C.), Concord Academy (Concord, N.C.), Christ School (Arden, N.C.), Davidson Day (Davidson, N.C.), Providence Day (Charlotte, N.C.) and Winston Salem Christian (Winston-Salem, N.C.). 

14-16 — Grind Sesssion Boca Raton (Boca Raton, Fla.)

15 — On the Radar Tip-Off (Norcross, Ga.)

20-22 — McDonald’s Texas Invitational (Pasadena, Texas)

Top teams competing in the 24-team Division 1 tournament field include Atascocita (Humble, Texas), Brennan, Fort Bend Marshall (Missouri City, Texas), Friendswood (Texas), Grand Oaks (Spring, Texas), Jordan (Fulshear, Texas), North Crowley and Summer Creek.

21-22 — George Lynch Invitational (Charlotte, N.C.)

Intriguing slate of games includes participants Academy of Central Florida (Kissimmee, Fla.), Burlington School (Burlington, N.C.), Christ School, Greensboro Day (Greensboro, N.C.), Moravian Prep (Hudson, N.C.), New Hanover (Wilmington, N.C.), North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, N.C.), Tennessee Collegiate Academy (Millington, Tenn.) and Winston Salem Christian.

21-22 — Made Hoops Miami Tip-Off (Miami, Fla.)

A strong showcase field features 11 teams with high expectations this season as Columbus (Miami, Fla.), Dynamic Prep (Irving, Texas), IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), Iowa United (Des Moines, Iowa), Oak Ridge (Orlando, Fla.), Prolific Prep (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Riviera Prep (Miami, Fla.), SoCal Academy (Castaic, Calif.), Southeastern Prep Academy (Orlando, Fla.), The Villages Charter (The Villages, Fla.) compete in the two-day showcase.

21-22 — Noble Classic Session II (Dallas, Texas)

21-23 — Grind Session Roswell (Roswell, Ga.)

21-23 — National Prep Showcase (New Haven, Conn.)

Top prep schools converge on New Haven.

22 — Hawks Naismith Tipoff Classic (Atlanta, Ga.)

22 — Trinity-Mission League Challenge (Los Angeles, Calif.)

22-25 — Jared Cook Classic (Suwanee, Ga.)

24-25 — Piney-Woods Hoopfest (Lufkin, Texas)

24-25 — Holiday Hoopsgiving (Huntsville, Ala.)

24-25 — Sun Bash Orlando (Orlando, Fla.)

24-26 — Five for the Fight (Mt. Pleasant, Utah)

25-29 — Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions (Washington, Ill.)

Split into four different fields, out-of-state teams from California,
Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Missouri, New York, South
Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin make up the field. Preseason top 100 programs Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), Pike (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Wisconsin Lutheran (Milwaukee, Wis.) are among the participants.

28-29 — Holiday Hoopsgiving (Atlanta, Ga.)

Columbus takes on Woodward Academy in the headliner Friday while Wheeler faces McEachern in the headliner on Saturday.

28-29 — Lighthouse Classic (Corinth, Miss.)

28-29 — National Hoopfeast (Tampa, Fla.)

Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Gillion Academy (Springfield, Va.), Mater Lakes Academy (Miami, Fla.), Prolific Prep, Riviera Prep, Sagemont Prep (Weston, Fla.), Southeastern Prep Academy and Tampa Catholic (Tampa, Fla.) are among the participants.

28-29 — Thanksgiving Hoopfest (Duncanville, Texas)

Field has yet to be announced for the can’t-miss event.

29 — NorCal Tip-Off Classic (Dublin, Calif.)

29-30 — Mayhem on Military Road (Washington, D.C.)

December

1-4 — Ryse Williams Pac Shores Showcase (Redondo Beach, Calif.)

Redondo Union hosts 74th annual field.

3-6 — Good Guys vs. Cancer Classic (Kill Devil Hills, N.C.)

Teams from Maryland, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia converge on the Outer Banks.

4-6 — Hoopfest at Marshall County (Benton, Ky.)

4-7 — Grind Session Murray (Murray, Ky.)

Grind Session event.

5-6 — Chicago Elite Classic (Chicago, Ill.)

5-6 — Kruel Classic (Coral Springs, Fla.)

5-6 — Leon Brogden Hoopfest (Wilmington, N.C.)

5-6 — Norm Stewart Classic (Columbia, Mo.)

The unique event gives us an early look at Missouri contenders with 48 consecutive hours of basketball.

5-6 — Red River Hoopfest (Texarkana, Texas)

Out-of-state programs Captain Shreve (Shreveport, La.), Douglass (Oklahoma City, Okla.),  Hall (Little Rock, Ark.), Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge, La.), St. Raymond (Bronx, N.Y.), White Hall (Ark.) joins Lone Star State powers like Duncanville and Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy (Dallas, Texas).

5-6 — Take Flight Challenge (Redondo Beach, Calif.)

Although the field has yet to be announced, a Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 showdown between Sunnyslope and Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) is among the games to watch.

5-7 — Sunshine Classic (Montverde, Fla.)

Host Montverde Academy faces Wasatch Academy and Dream City Christian (Glendale, Ariz.) at Nike EYBL Scholastic event. Tennessee Collegiate Academy also takes on Dream City Christian and Wasatch Academy also.

5-7 — Xaverian Classic (Olney, Md.)

Matchups to watch include Bishop McNamara versus Santa Margarita, IMG Academy against St. John’s and Father Judge battling Archbishop Spalding.

6 — Tournament of Champions Super Saturday (Marietta, Ga.)

7 — William F. Plunkett Jr Christmas Classic (White Plains, N.Y.)

11-13 — Bojangles Bash (Columbia, S.C.)

11-13 — The Elite 8 (Santa Maria, Calif.)

First-year tournament features eight-team field of Archbishop Riordan, Crean Lutheran (Irvine, Calif.), Crespi (Encino, Calif.), Eagle Academy (Bronx, N.Y.), Edgewater (Orlando, Fla.), Inglewood, Riviera Prep and St. Joseph.

12-13 — Holiday Hoopfest (Lehi, Utah)

Top Beehive State programs like American Fork (Utah), Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah), Lehi (Utah), Orem (Utah) and Timpview (Provo, Utah) are joined by out-of-state schools Cardinal Ritter (St. Louis, Mo.), Central Catholic (Portland, Ore.), Duncanville, Lufkin and Summer Creek.

12-13 — Nike EYBL NBA Cup (Las Vegas, Nev.)

12-13 — Sun Bash Miami (Miami, Fla.)

12-13 — Turnkey Hardwood Classic (Knoxville, Tenn.)

12-14 — Gonzaga DC Classic (Washington, D.C.)

Host Gonzaga is joined by Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Pa.), Benedictine (Richmond, Va.), Chaminade (St. Louis, Mo.), Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, Md.), Jackson-Reed (Washington, D.C.), St. Andrew’s Episcopal (Potomac, Md.) and Whitney Young in the 8-team tournament field.

12-14 — Grind Session Hopkinsville (Hopkinsville, Ky.)

13 — Breakdown Tip-Off Classic (Edina, Minn.)

13 — Hawks Naismith Holiday Classic (Norcross, Ga.)

13-14 — Made Hoops Main Event (Louisville, Ky.)

16-20 — ‘Iolani Classic (Honolulu, Hawaii)
Bolingbrook, Brentwood School (Los Angeles, Calif.), De La Salle (Chicago, Ill.), Harvard-Westlake, Lexington Catholic (Lexington, Ky.), Millennium (Goodyear, Ariz.), Mount Vernon (N.Y.) and Owyhee (Meridian, Idaho) join top teams from Hawaii in the 16-team tournament field.

16-23 — Tarkanian Classic (Las Vegas, Nev.)

Field has yet to be announced for one of the top tournaments in the West Coast annually. Prep Division will be held Dec 16-18 with the high school divisions playing Dec. 19-23 with no games played on Sunday Dec. 21.

18-22 — King of the Bluegrass (Louisville, Ky.)

Defending regional champions St. Xavier (Louisville, Ky.) and North Laurel (London, Ky.) are joined by other top Bluegrass State programs Covington Catholic (Park Hills, Ky.). Frederick Douglass (Lexington, Ky.), Grayson County (Leitchfield, Ky.), Lyon County (Eddyville, Ky.), Male (Louisville, Ky.) and Warren Central (Bowling Green, Ky.) in the 16-team tournament field.

18-22 — Kruel Classic (Coral Springs, Fla.)

Out-of-state schools Alexander, Ben L. Smith (Greensboro, N.C.), Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.), Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, Va.), Corner Canyon, Higley (Gilbert, Ariz.), Holy Cross (Flushing, N.Y.), Kell (Marietta, Ga.), Notre Dame Prep (Fairfield, Conn.), San Tan Charter (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Waxahachie (Texas) join top Sunshine State programs in the 19-team field.

18-23 — City of Palms Classic (Fort Myers, Fla.)

Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 squads Archbishop Stepinac, Bartlett, Bishop McNamara, Calvary Christian Academy, Columbus, Owasso (Okla.), Paul VI, Petersburg (Va.), St. John Bosco, The Villages Charter and Wheeler are joined by Preseason National Top 10 program Long Island Lutheran in the loaded 16-team Classic bracket.

19-20 — Hoopfest in Paradise (Nassau, Bahamas)

Field has yet to be announced.

19-21 — Grind Session Fort Worth (Fort Worth, Texas)

Grind Session event.

26-29 — Kingdom of the Sun (Ocala, Fla.)

26-30 — Governors Challenge (Salisbury, Md.)

One of the largest holiday tournaments in the country features over 140 teams at the Wicomico Civic Center, University of Maryland East Shore and surrounding high schools.

26-30 — John Wall Holiday Invitational (Raleigh, N.C.)

Coby White bracket features Greensboro Day, IMG Academy, Spire Academy and Southeastern Prep Academy, Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket includes Coronado, Highland (Warrenton, Va.) and Petersburg and the Morgan Stanley bracket contains Christ School and Reidsville (N.C.).

26-30 — Les Schwab Invitational (Hillsboro, Ore.)

26-30 — The Classic at Damien (La Verne, Calif.)

More than 140 teams teams are split into nine separate 16-team brackets with the Platinum Division features Crean Lutheran, La Mirada, Owyhee, Parish Episcopal (Dallas, Texas), Redondo Union (Redondo Beach, Calif.), Roosevelt (Eastvale, Calif.), Salesian (Richmond, Calif.), O’Connor (Phoenix, Ariz.), St. John Bosco and Sunnyslope.

26-31 — The Classic at Tennessee High School (Bristol, Tenn.)

Out-of-state teams Bishop O’Connell (Arlington, Va.), Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.), Columbia (Decatur, Ga.), Fairdale (Ky.), North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, N.C.), Olympia, Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Baltimore, Md.), St. Thomas Aquinas and Thomas Jefferson Campus join top teams from the Volunteer State such as nationally-ranked Webb.

26-30 — Desert Holiday Classic (Rancho Mirage, Calif.)

Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 school Harvard-Westlake is expected to compete in the 25th edition of the tournament.

26-30 — Torrey Pines Holiday Classic (San Diego, Calif.)

Field has yet to be announced for the 35th annual event.

27-28 — Jordan Holiday Classic (Brooklyn, N.Y.)

Preseason National Top 10 squads Link Academy, Long Island Lutheran and Montverde Academy join Preseason MaxPreps Top 100 programs Archbishop Stepinac, Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.), Bishop McNamara, Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia, Pa.), Sidwell Friends (Washington, D.C.), St. Xavier, Paul VI and Roman Catholic (Philadelphia, Pa.) in The Empire State.

Host Milton battles defending North Carolina state champion North Mecklenburg.

31 — Very Melo Classic (Towson, Md.)

Paul VI takes on Oak Hill Academy and Sidwell Friends battles Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the to be announced field.

February

5-7 — LuHi Invitational (Brookville, N.Y.)

Long Island Lutheran hosts the Nike EYBL Scholastic conference event that sees them face Brewster Academy, Christ School and Wasatch Academy on three consecutive days.

6-7 — Dr. Pepper Classic (Chattanooga, Tenn.)

Full field has yet to be announced, but Nike EYBL Scholastic conference matchups of Oak Hill Academy vs. La Lumiere, Spire Academy vs. Montverde Academy, The St. James Academy vs. Oak Hill Academy and The St James Academy vs. Spire Academy have been made public.
