Lincoln Moore does it again for the Stars; Western teams win 4 of 7 inter-conference games

St. Thomas Stars 5 at Caledonia Corvairs 4 (OT)

Lincoln Moore scored his second goal of the game 26 seconds into overtime to give the Stars (4-8-1-1) their second straight win.  Since being acquired from the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit on Friday, Moore has now scored two goals – including the game-winners – in each of his two career GOJHL games in as many nights.  Matthew O’Sullivan also scored twice for the Stars.  Ethan Brassard  had a goal and an assist for the Corvairs (10-6-1-0), who are now winless in three (0-1-2-0).

Sarnia Legionnaires 2 at Fort Erie Meteors 10

Colton Radford recorded his first career hat-trick and added an assist to lead the Meteors (10-5-1-0) to the win.  Derek Smyth had a season-high 5 points (1G, 4A), as Fort Erie extended their unbeaten run to 5 games (4-0-1-0) with their highest goal total since scoring 11 on Dec.5, 2015.  Gage Brandon had a goal and an assist for the Legionnaires (3-9-2-0).

Stratford Cullitons 1 at Cambridge Redhawks 2

Kyler Morgan scored his second of the game at 3:58 of the third to break a 1-1 tie, and Lennart Neisse made 43 saves for the Redhawks (9-6-1-1), who have points in seven straight games (6-0-1-0).  Quinn Kipfer scored the lone goal for the Warriors (11-5-0-0), who outshot Cambridge 44-16.

Chatham Maroons 6 at Elmira Sugar Kings 1

After a scoreless first, the Maroons (9-5-1-0) scored four unanswered goals in the second and cruised to the win, giving them points in 6 straight games (5-0-1-0).  Ian Speiran had the lone goal for the Sugar Kings, who are now winless in three (0-2-1-0).

St. Catharines Falcons 4 at Komoka Kings 3

Treyson Dewar and Marcus Harris each had a goal and an assist for the Falcons (12-5-0-0).  Trailing 4-1 entering the third, the Kings (2-12-1-0) scored twice to draw within one, but could not tie the game, as they remain winless at home (0-5-1-0).

LaSalle Vipers 3 at Hamilton Kilty B’s 0

Joseph Gingras’ goal 22 seconds into the game was all the scoring needed as rookie netminder Jake Windbiel made 28 saves to record his first career GOJHL shutout for the Vipers (11-4-0-0).  The Kilty B’s (8-6-2-0) suffered their third straight shutout loss at home.

Port Colborne Sailors 2 at Strathroy Rockets 4

Goals from Josh Denes and Braedon Clark 1:57 apart in the third period erased a 2-1 deficit for the Rockets (10-4-1-1) who moved into a tie for second in the Western Conference standings.  Nathan DiPietro scored in his third straight game for the Sailors (9-6-0-1).
