A man from St. Catharines has been arrested after defacing a local church with graffiti.

Niagara police responded to reports of vandalism at a church located near Church and Queenston streets in early September.

On September 25, officers from the Community Oriented Response and Enforcement (CORE) unit took forty-year-old Patrick Cliff into custody. He faces two counts of violating a probation order and three counts of mischief under $5,000.

The police did not disclose what the graffiti depicted.

Cliff appeared via video link for his bail hearing on September 26 and was released with a scheduled court date.

The CORE Unit continues to collaborate with local businesses to tackle issues related to graffiti.

If you have any information, please contact Niagara police at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, extension 1009600, or reach out to Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or at 1-800-222-8477.
