Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report that they apprehended a 36-year-old man for driving at 225 km/h on the Fort Erie-bound QEW, where the speed limit is 100 km/h.
On Saturday at 1:26 a. m., OPP was performing stationary speed checks on the QEW near Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Authorities say the vehicle was detected speeding. The driver was pulled over and subsequently failed a roadside breath test.
Timothy Randall from St. Catharines faces multiple charges related to driving, including operating a vehicle while impaired (with a blood alcohol concentration over 80), exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h, and driving without a valid license or permit.

The suspect’s driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle will be impounded for two weeks.
He has since been released from custody and is set to appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines on December 7.
