Son going through charges following double murder in St. Catharines: police

Niagara police say the son of a pair discovered deceased inside a St. Catharines, Ont. residence Thursday is going through a pair of second-degree homicide charges.

Detectives insist the deaths will not be a “random act of violence” after officers found the person and woman round 9 a.m. at a home on Queenston and Lorne streets.

Few specifics about how the couple died have been revealed however investigators stated they’re probing the actions of the accused between April 30 and Might 2.

It’s believed all three lived collectively on the time of the murders.

A police spokesperson says surveillance digital camera footage from residents close to the house between St. Catharines and Smithville continues to be being collected.

The deceased have been recognized as George Mummery, 62, and Jennifer Allen, 59.

The accused is Andrew Mummery, 33, of St. Catharines.

Investigators say he was arrested round 9:30 a.m. Thursday at The Village Sq. in Smithville.

Niagara police’s murder unit is predicted to be on the scene by means of the weekend because the investigation continues.

It’s the second time in simply over a month that police in St. Catharines have laid charges in a murder related with the demise of oldsters.

In an unrelated incident, two residents at a house on Elma Road had been discovered deceased in late March.

The son of that couple is going through a pair of first-degree homicide charges.
