Niagara regional police have announced that they are treating a deadly tent fire in St. Catharines, Ont., from earlier this week as a homicide.

Officers on patrol spotted the tent fire in a wooded area of Mountain Locks Park early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters quickly put out the flames and discovered a deceased man at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Kenneth Dombroskie, who was reportedly homeless.

Authorities have determined that his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police are urging anyone with information to reach out to them.

This report by The Canadian Press was first Feb. 13, 2026.
