The Ontario Ministry of Labour is looking into the tragic death of a worker who fell into Hamilton Harbour while on the job at Ontario Shipyards near Pier 14 on Monday.

Hamilton police reported that they received a call around 9:30 a. m. about someone in the water at the facility located at 208 Hillyard St.

According to officers, the individual fell into the water while working and has succumbed to their injuries.

Details surrounding how the fall occurred have not been released yet.

The police are securing the area as the labour ministry conducts its investigation.
