A person is deceased, and one other is preventing for his life in hospital following a “targeted” capturing in St. Catharines Friday afternoon.

Niagara Regional Police mentioned they had been referred to as to Division and Riordon streets, close to Geneva and St. Paul streets, round 1:40 p.m. for experiences of gunshots.

Officers situated two males affected by gunshot wounds. Police mentioned one sufferer was taken to an area hospital, the place he was pronounced deceased. The opposite man was transported to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening accidents.

“Detectives have information to suggest that this was a targeted incident,” police mentioned in a information launch Friday night.

The suspect is described as a 50-year-old white man with a medium construct and salt and pepper goatee. He was final seen sporting an ECKO hooded jacket with logos and patches on the chest space, a wool toque, blue denims, dark-coloured trainers with white-coloured soles and white trim and a dark-coloured backpack.

In the meantime, his affiliate is believed to be a white man between 35 and 40 years previous with a skinny construct, brown wavy hair and a scruffy goatee. He had on a dark-hooded waist-length bomber-style jacket, darkish denims and darkish trainers.

“The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous. If seen, please call 911 immediately and do not approach,” police mentioned.
