$15K in foreign money, suspected medicine seized in St. Catharines

The seizure comes as a part of a prolonged investigation into medicine being offered out of a house and a car

In the course of the month of April 2024, Detectives from the 1 District Avenue Crime Unit (St.Catharines/Thorold) of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) investigated medicine being offered out of a residence and suspect car all through the Metropolis of St. Catharines.

Because of the investigation, on April 30, 2024 at 3:22 p.m., Detectives from the 1 District Avenue Crime Unit (NRPS) subsequently performed a visitors cease within the space of Scott Avenue and Vine Avenue ensuing within the arrest of the suspect. 

Inside the contents of the car being operated by the suspect, varied medicine, drug paraphernalia and Canadian foreign money had been seized with a complete estimated road worth of $15,000. Portions seized by police are as follows:


24.8 grams of fentanyl
61.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine
38.7 grams of cocaine
14 Hydromorphone drugs
100 Oxycodone drugs
$2,235 Canadian foreign money

Craig Burton (49 years outdated) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the next prison offences of:


possession of schedule I substance for the aim of trafficking. (fentanyl)
possession of schedule I substance for the aim of trafficking. (hydromorphone)
possession of schedule I substance for the aim of trafficking. (cocaine)
possession of schedule I substance for the aim of trafficking. (oxycodone)
possession of schedule I substance for the aim of trafficking. (crystal methamphetamine)
fail to adjust to launch order
possession of proceeds of crime underneath $5,000

Burton was held in custody pending a bail listening to was held in custody for a video bail listening to on the Robert S. Okay. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on Could 1, 2024.
