A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged with a number of offences following a Niagara Regional Police investigation right into a collection of auto thefts and break-ins in St. Catharines.

Detectives from 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) launched an investigation earlier this month after a collection of incidents within the Roehampton Avenue space.

On Dec. 6, police situated a stolen automobile in a parking zone close to Welland Avenue and Grantham Avenue. When officers tried to cease the automobile, the motive force reversed right into a police cruiser earlier than fleeing the scene.

Investigators say a suspect was later situated and recognized as being related to a number of stolen autos and break-ins reported because the begin of December.

He was arrested and charged with a number of offences, together with possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of motorcar theft, mischief, harmful operation of a motorcar and flight from police.

Police say the male was held in custody and is scheduled for a bail listening to on Dec. 7 on the Robert S.Okay. Welch Courthouse on Church Avenue in St. Catharines.
