This morning, a Barrie resident lost his life in a collision on Highway 400, just north of Duckworth Street. Officers were dispatched following a 911 call about a vehicle that had overturned on Highway 400 North. The body of the 29-year-old man was found at the site. Currently, some lanes are closed for repairs to a damaged guardrail near the accident area and to assist with vehicle removal. On August 13, around 7:15 a. m., Ontario Provincial Police responded to reports of a vehicle collision in the northbound lanes near the Highway 11 split just above the city limits, according to authorities. Details remain sparse at this point; police indicated only one vehicle was involved and one occupant sustained “unknown injuries.” A police tactical unit was visible as part of the ongoing investigation.
