Norfolk County Residents Arrested for Drug Offenses

Two men from Norfolk County have been charged after police pulled over a vehicle during an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.

On Sunday, Jan. 11, shortly after 11 a. m., members of the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP community street crime unit executed a traffic stop on Ireland Road in Simcoe.

The driver and passenger were arrested without any issues.

Officers reportedly found a quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and MDMA (ecstasy), as well as Canadian cash and drug paraphernalia.

A 36-year-old man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine; possession of property obtained by crime valued under $5,000; and failure to comply with probation conditions.

The accused remains in custody and was set to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Jan. 12.

A 68-year-old man faces charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; possession for the purpose of trafficking an opioid; possession of methylenedioxyamphetamine (ecstasy); and possessing property obtained by crime valued under $5,000.

The accused is expected to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Feb.10.

Three individuals have been charged following two separate intimate partner violence investigations.
