In October 2024, Simcoe County will as soon as once more be taking part in a nationally-coordinated Level-in-Time (PiT) Homeless Depend. This fourth annual depend is required by Reaching House, Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities Canada and is supported by neighborhood companions throughout the nation.

Over the depend interval, skilled surveyors will depend and survey people who’re staying in shelters, short-term emergency housing, and sleeping tough (with out shelter). Our PiT Depend will present a “snapshot” of homelessness in Simcoe County. It can point out the minimal variety of folks experiencing homelessness in our neighborhood. Different types of homelessness, similar to folks staying briefly with buddies or household, usually are not sometimes included in a PiT Depend.

This PiT Depend will enhance the area’s understanding of the wants and circumstances of the people who find themselves affected by homelessness in our neighborhood. The survey will present the County with key information on gender, age, ethnicity, veteran standing, size of time experiencing homelessness, and extra.
