Week runs from Nov. 3 to 9; this yr’s theme is ‘Consciousness in Motion: Maintaining Ontario Secure Collectively’ and emphasizes the significance of cooperation in serving to to construct a stronger province

The South Simcoe Police Service is happy to take part in Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week, which runs from Nov. 3 to 9, 2024. The week-long promotion of crime prevention is supported by the Ontario Affiliation of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the Ministry of the Solicitor Normal, and police companies throughout Ontario. The 2024 theme is Consciousness in Motion: Maintaining Ontario Secure Collectively – emphasizing the significance of working collectively to assist construct a safer, stronger Ontario.

Most forms of crimes are preventable, and Crime Prevention Week is a good alternative for everybody to think about what they will do to maintain their households, neighbourhoods, faculties, and workplaces protected from felony actions. In recognition of Crime Prevention week, South Simcoe Police has partnered with neighborhood organizations to carry a sequence of applications and occasions to share important crime prevention data and security suggestions.

“Community safety and well-being is a shared responsibility in Ontario. Being aware of crime and how to prevent being a victim of criminal activity is something everyone can do. We want our community members to know how they can protect themselves, their families, neighbours, and workplaces from crime. We encourage everyone to take part in Crime Prevention Week by attending an event or learning about how to protect yourself, your family or your business.” – Chief John Van Dyke, South Simcoe Police.
