Norfolk County OPP investigate the murder of a woman in Simcoe on Oct. 5, 2025 (Sean Cowan/CHCH). A man from Simcoe, accused of killing his 71-year-old mother and a 49-year-old man, is now facing more serious charges. The Ontario Provincial Police have revealed that Justin Morgan has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder concerning the deaths of Barbara Morgan and Robert Sykes. On October 5, Norfolk OPP found Barbara’s body at her home on Head Street in Simcoe. An autopsy confirmed that her death was a homicide. Robert Sykes’ body was discovered later, on October 16, in a wooded area off Highway 6, just west of Caledonia. His death was also ruled as homicide. Justin was initially arrested for his mother’s death and faced one charge of second-degree murder. Now, OPP states he will be charged with two counts of first-degree murder connected to both cases. Morgan is currently in custody and set to appear in court on Friday.
