Simcoe County and Muskoka may have a hotter and dryer fall than ordinary.

Atmosphere Canada predicts above-average temperatures for the area over the following three months.

The nationwide climate company experiences the second half of September into the primary a part of October may have elevated daytime highs for the Barrie space with little or no rain.

“Temperatures are within the excessive 20s. They’re about six or seven levels hotter than you’d anticipate for this time of the 12 months,” mentioned Atmosphere Canada senior climatologist David Phillips. “I do not suppose you possibly can write the ultimate chapter on summery-like climate.”

The precipitation pattern seems extra unsure towards mid-October and onward.

“Precipitation is at all times somewhat robust to get. We’re saying it is going to be drier than regular. So, are you able to think about hotter and drier? It is like an atmospheric reward that nature’s going to present us as a result of we all know what’s coming … winter. However hey, let’s fear about that later,” Phillips added.

On Wednesday, daytime temps will rise to 26C within the Barrie space, feeling extra like 30C with the humidex.

The recent and humid pattern will proceed for at the least the following week, with temperatures predicted to climb into the mid-to-high 20s.
