Ontario Provincial Police are worried there might be another victim after discovering an elderly woman deceased in her Simcoe residence last weekend.

Norfolk County OPP responded on Sunday to a house on Head Street South, where they found the body of 71-year-old Barbara Morgan from Simcoe.

On Wednesday, officers conducted a search at a residence on Stanley Street in Simcoe.

Detectives are now concerned about the whereabouts of 49-year-old Robert Sykes of Simcoe, who is currently missing.

He is described as a white male, approximately five-foot-10 tall and weighing around 120 pounds, with long, dirty-blonde hair often tied back in a ponytail and sporting a long beard. He may also be wearing glasses.

The last sighting of him was on Head Street South on Saturday.

Residents in the area should expect to see an ongoing police presence as officers go door-to-door on Head Street South and Stanley Street to talk with locals.

The police believe this is an isolated incident and that there’s no continuing risk to public safety.

Investigators have not yet revealed if they have identified any suspects.
