A 59-year-old man from Norfolk County has been charged with assault after an incident on Main Street South in Waterford on October 18.

Norfolk man faces assault charges

A man aged 59 from Norfolk County has been charged with assault after an incident on October 18 that took place on Main Street South in Waterford.

Provincial police received a call about an assault just before 11:30 a. m.

Officers found that two individuals had interacted, and one physically assaulted the other. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, according to the police.

The accused is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

Resident arrested for making threats

A resident of Norfolk County, aged 28, has been charged following an investigation into intimate partner violence that occurred on October 19.

The OPP officers responded to a residence in Norfolk around 11:35 p. m. after receiving reports of a dispute.

The officers discovered that during the altercation between two people, one made threats toward the other.

The accused now faces charges for uttering threats causing death or bodily harm.

The individual remains in custody and will appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.

Attempted break-in alert

The Norfolk County OPP is seeking assistance from the public regarding an attempted break-in that occurred on October 19.

Officers were called out to Blueline Road just outside Simcoe around  3:16 p. m. after receiving reports of someone trying to break in.

A further investigation showed that a male wearing a red hoodie and black vest attempted to force his way into a barn on the property.suspectThe Norfolk County OPP have released this image of a suspect related to an attempted break-in.<پ

No entry was made into the barn; however, there was damage done to its exterior before the suspect fled on a bicycle, according to police statements.</پ
