Neighbour dispute results in legal action

A neighbour dispute has resulted in a Norfolk man being charged.

Norfolk OPP officers responded to a call on Jan. 6 at about 4:30 a. m. on Highway 3 in Simcoe.

The police alleged that one individual trespassed onto the property of a neighbour, which led to an “interaction.” Authorities claimed the suspect had previously made threats towards the other person.

A 37-year-old man from Norfolk County is facing charges for trespassing at night; uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm; and failure to comply with probation order.

Two individuals face charges related to vehicle break-in

Two people have been charged after allegedly breaking into a vehicle in Simcoe.

Norfolk OPP, along with help from the West Region OPP emergency response team and canine unit, received reports shortly after 1 a. m. about two individuals reportedly attempting to break into a vehicle on Decou Road.

Officers located one suspect nearby. A second suspect was discovered at another location on Decou Road just before 2 a. m.

Police indicated that the suspects also allegedly targeted vehicles on nearby Willow Drive.

An 18-year-old and a 23-year-old from Norfolk County were charged with two counts of theft valued under $5,000; and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime valued under $5,000.

Police seek public assistance regarding break-and-enter in Simcoe

Authorities are asking for help identifying those responsible for a recent break-and-enter incident in Simcoe.

On Jan. 7, Norfolk OPP were alerted about a break-in on 14th Street West in Simcoe.

According to police reports, sometime between early morning on Monday, Jan.5 and early afternoon on Wednesday, Jan.7, one or more individuals broke into a secured area of the property and stole copper among other items.<

Two drivers arrested for impaired driving offenses

Two residents from Norfolk County have been charged following separate investigations involving impaired driving.

On January fifth around seven forty AM , officers responded to report regarding suspected impaired driver near Kent Street North intersection with Young Street in Simcoe.

A thirty-eight year old individual was charged with operation while impaired due to alcohol and drugs.

On January eighth around seven twenty PM , an officer patrolling Hillcrest Road stopped speeding driver when they noticed some suspicious behavior.

A thirty-year-old driver faced multiple charges including operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs ; operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (eighty plus) ; speeding over limit by twelve forty-nine kilometers per hour ; possessing more than single license ; failing to show proof of insurance card.
