Simcoe North MPP strikes into high-profile ministry in wake of resignation of Todd Smith earlier immediately
Premier Doug Ford has named Simcoe North MPP Jill Dunlop as the brand new Minister of Schooling and Nolan Quinn as the brand new Minister of Faculties and Universities.
Dunlop, serving her second time period because the MPP for the area, has held quite a lot of posts over the previous few years.
She was the primary woman elected to the provincial legislature in Simcoe North, when she was first elected in June of 2018.
“The importance of that feat is not lost on me. I want my daughters to see more women in politics,” she advised OrilliaMatters after her election win.
Her father, Garfield Dunlop, was Simcoe North MPP from 1999 to 2015.
Kevin Holland has joined Cupboard as the brand new Affiliate Minister of Forestry and Forest Merchandise as a part of the Ministry of Pure Sources and Graham McGregor has joined Cupboard as the brand new Affiliate Minister of Auto Theft and Bail Reform as a part of the Ministry of the Solicitor Common.
“With these changes, our government remains focused on rebuilding Ontario’s economy and protecting public safety as we deliver better jobs and bigger paycheques for workers in every part of the province,” stated Premier Ford. “I’m thrilled to recognize Jill, Nolan, Kevin and Graham for their leadership and know they will each work tirelessly to serve the people of Ontario.”
The strikes got here after Todd Smith resigned as Minister of Schooling and Member of Provincial Parliament for Bay of Quinte to pursue a job within the personal sector after only a few months as schooling minister.
