A chilly swim for a good cause is set to return to Georgian Bluffs this March.
The 2026 Polar Plunge, supporting Special Olympics Ontario, will happen on Saturday, March 7 at the Shallow Lake Arena.
Grey Bruce OPP Constable Kody Lyons shares that this event is a great way for the community to unite while backing Special Olympics athletes across the province.
“The polar plunge is a signature fundraising event for Special Olympics Ontario, helping to provide year-round sports programs, competitions, and opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities,” added Lyons. “Every plunge, pledge, and donation directly supports these programs.”
Residents, businesses, and service clubs are invited to create teams, throw down challenges, and help make this year’s plunge the biggest one yet.
“This year’s event offers even more ways for the community to get involved,” shared Lyons. “Before the plunge starts, community members are welcome to watch the Grey Bruce OPP face off against the Intertownship Fire Department in a Charity Hockey Game at the Shallow Lake Arena. Puck drops at 1 p. m.”
Registration for The Polar Plunge kicks off at 1 p. m., with the icy dip starting at 2 p. m. The Shallow Lake Arena is located at 550 Princess Street.
