The MPPs for Huron-Bruce and Perth-Wellington collectively introduced funding for native dementia care.
Lisa Thompson and Matthew Rae made the joint announcement on January 15, sharing that $86,100 is coming to the Alzheimer Society of Gray-Bruce and $111,600 to the Alzheimer Society of Huron Perth from the provincial authorities.
In response to the discharge from Thompson and Rae, the funding will “help providers delivered by the Alzheimer Society of Ontario’s community-based First Hyperlink Care Navigation program that connects folks dwelling with dementia, and their households, with assist navigating care, training, and assets.”
This funding is a part of the Ontario authorities’s $6.9 million funding over two years to help those that have acquired a dementia analysis on their care journey.
“I am proud to share that the Ontario government is investing in the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce and the Alzheimer Society of Huron Perth to ensure individuals and families affected by dementia can access the care, support, and resources they require at every stage of their journey,” stated Lisa Thompson, MPP for Huron-Bruce. “This investment reinforces our government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for those impacted by dementia across our communities in Huron-Bruce.”
“Our seniors built our communities, and now in their golden years, our provincial government will be there to support them,” stated Matthew Rae, MPP for Perth-Wellington. “These investments will significantly improve the ability to connect those diagnosed with dementia to the resources and care they need locally.”
