A monstrous sport from a Chatham-Kent resident wasn’t sufficient for the Laurier Golden Hawks to win the 2024 Vanier Cup.
They took on the Laval Rouge et Or on Saturday in Kingston, Ontario and ended up dropping 22-17. This was Laurier’s first lack of the season.
CK’s Ethan Jordan caught 11 passes for 179 yards which was 100 yards greater than the sport’s second main receiver. He was coming off a historic season which noticed him lead the nation in receptions (59), touchdowns (10), yards per sport (125), and whole yards (1000) by a receiver.

It was Laval’s kicker Felipe Forteza who arguably gained the sport as he made six subject objectives with the Rouge et Or’s different 4 factors approaching two separate safeties.
The one touchdowns within the sport got here from the Golden Hawks. The primary was a five-yard receiving rating from Ryan Hughes with the second being a three-yard receiving landing by Jaxon Stebbings.
Laurier Quarterback Taylor Elgersma accomplished 23 of his 34 passes for 246 yards. His counterpart Arnaud Desjardins collected 320 passing yards.
This was Laurier’s sixth look within the Vanier Cup, its first since profitable it in 2005. The loss places the Golden Hawks’ championship file to 2-4.
