Dignitaries gathered on Thursday to have a good time the completion of the Cestar Dock at Sarnia Harbour.

Metropolis officers had been joined by representatives from the County of Lambton, Lambton Faculty, and the Cestar Group – which offered $4 million to the mission – for a ribbon reducing ceremony on the web site on the foot of Exmouth Road.

Oversize Load Hall (OLC) Undertaking Supervisor Lyle Johnson stated the completed dock represents a considerable milestone within the Metropolis of Sarnia and County of Lambton endeavor.

Development of the $8.8 million dock growth on the north slip took longer than anticipated. On the groundbreaking in June 2023, officers anticipated the work can be achieved by the tip 2023.

As a part of the OLC mission, 230 utility crossings had been buried, 2.8 km of Blackwell Aspect Highway was resurfaced and 22 rotating site visitors sign bases had been put in.

Cestar’s Chief Working Officer Adrian Sharma snipped the ribbon to mark the dock’s official opening.

“Even though Cestar College physically exists in Toronto, we feel very attached to the community and the people of Sarnia through our partnership with Lambton College, so we are thrilled to see that this facility will live on in the community as a meaningful reminder of our partnership,” Sharma stated.

The wheels began transferring on the OLC mission in 2018 when Lambton County Council dedicated $1.2 million to begin it.
