A charity polar plunge for Special Olympics Ontario and a hockey fundraiser are set to happen in Georgian Bluffs.
On March 7, the Inter Township Fire Department and Grey Bruce OPP will host the Polar Plunge from 1-3 p. m. at the Shallow Lake Community Centre, along with a charity hockey game.
The game kicks off at 1 p. m., featuring local firefighters against Grey Bruce OPP officers. During this time, you can sign up either as a team or as an individual for the polar plunge and even choose your own walk-up music for the event.
At 2 p. m., participants will jump into the cold water for the polar plunge, and afterwards, there’ll be a sauna available thanks to Northern Leisure Port Elgin to help warm up.
You can also enjoy free hot drinks provided by the Shallow Lake Minor Hockey League canteen during the event.
Admission is by donation, and if you’d like, you can donate ahead of time. All proceeds will support Special Olympians locally and across Ontario.
You can make your donation in advance or register as a team on the Polar Plunge website here: Grey Bruce 2026 Polar Plunge.
