An unhinged rant by Sarnia metropolis/county councillor Invoice Dennis, that included insults and vulgarity, pressured Sarnia council to take a prolonged break about 90 minutes into the digital funds deliberations Tuesday morning.

Dennis misplaced his composure after he proposed a movement to scale back advisor charges by 50 per cent in 2025, and CAO Chris Carter was responding to the query.

“The rationale why they go to consultants on a regular basis is many of the senior employees is not from right here and most of them do not reside right here, they usually don’t know what folks from Sarnia need,” stated Dennis.

A number of councillors made repeated requires level of order, speaking over one another.

“Oh I do not give a, you guys are sellouts, you guys are sellouts, nothing however sellouts, kiss, you are a joke,” stated Dennis.

The tirade continued with Dennis making private assaults in opposition to councillor Adam Kilner and Mayor Mike Bradley.

“Councillor Dennis, I’m simply going to say this to you beneath the principles of order your behaviour is unacceptable,” stated Bradley.

“You understand what, kiss my ass you drunk, you cokehead, f**okay off,” replied Dennis, earlier than funds talks have been paused.

At one level, Councillor Adam Kilner interjected to say that Dennis shouldn’t communicate to the mayor that approach, after which discovered himself a goal of Dennis.

“You understand what? Kiss my ass, you fruitcake,” Dennis fumed at Kilner in response. It was shortly after that time that Bradley stopped the assembly.

When the assembly resumed, Mayor Bradley introduced Dennis wouldn’t be becoming a member of them.

“This has not occurred in all my time as mayor in 36 years, however councillor Dennis is expelled from this assembly,” stated Bradley. “He is aware of the best way to get again into the assembly and sooner or later is to apologize to council and to contact the clerk to take action.”

As reported by the Ontario Chronicle, Dennis has filed a $200,000 lawsuit in opposition to Carter claiming he’s attempting to “render him ineffective.”

Previous to the assembly’s derailment, council had handled the main capital venture listing and objects that had been referred to the funds for consideration.
