Heavy snow and strong winds led to the cancellation of school buses in Sarnia-Lambton on Friday.
Due to the current and expected weather conditions, school buses in ALL ZONES were called off.
The Francobus Transport Service confirmed that bus services in Lambton County were also cancelled.
Drifting snow and icy roads were reported early Friday morning on local routes such as Petrolia Line and Oil Heritage Road.
According to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Highway 402 from Sarnia to Watford was covered with snow, with some sections only partly cleared and visibility reduced.
A blowing snow advisory was issued for the area on Thursday, warning about dangerous travel conditions for Friday.
Environment Canada stated that strong northwesterly winds will develop following a low-pressure system, resulting in widespread blowing snow and significantly lower visibility.
Temperatures are also predicted to drop as the day goes on.
