The Sarnia Police Service (SPS) has laid assault charges following an incident at an encampment within the metropolis.
On Tuesday, a sufferer was asleep on the encampment close to Indian Street and Exmouth Road.
Police stated the sufferer woke as much as one other man accusing him of stealing medicine, who then allegedly hit the sufferer with the face and ribs with a hatchet.
Police added the person then grabbed a golf membership and hit the sufferer over the top.
The sufferer sustained vital bruising to his head and face.
“Upon police arrival, they located the victim, who had now armed himself with a different hatchet and a crowbar for protection,” learn a information launch.
“He complied with police direction to disarm and later refused offers for medical treatment.”
The suspect was positioned and arrested. A 41-year-old Sarnia man is now dealing with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a harmful goal and failure to adjust to a launch order.
