Police are searching for a suspect in reference to two suspicious fires final month in Richmond Hill.

On Could 30, shortly after 11 p.m., police responded to studies of a tree on hearth near a residence within the space of Kellogg Crescent and Verdi Highway. Firefighters extinguished the flames, and no accidents or property harm had been reported.

Video surveillance reveals a darkish compact SUV stopping on the road. The suspect exits the car, walks as much as the tree, ignites it and takes off within the SUV.

On Could 31, shortly earlier than 10 a.m., police had been contacted by a home-owner who lives within the space of Kellogg Crescent and Verdi Highway, reporting a tree on his property confirmed indicators of being burned.

Video surveillance from the time of the Could 30 incident reveals a male in a walkway between two residences setting a small hearth on a tree on the rear of one of many properties. The suspect walks again to his car and flees the scene. There was no harm to property, and the fireplace went out by itself after about 20 seconds.

Police consider the identical suspect is liable for each fires.

The suspect is described as about five-foot-11, 180 kilos, with a full beard, carrying light-coloured observe pants, a dark-coloured jacket, a light-coloured sweater, a baseball hat and white sneakers.
