RICHMOND HILL – Officials report that five individuals were taken to the hospital following a house fire in Richmond Hill, located north of Toronto.

York Region Paramedic Services received an emergency call about the blaze near Skywood Drive and Rollinghill Road shortly after 3 a. m. on Monday.

Paramedics assessed all five patients, noting that four of them had no vital signs.

The response included a multi-patient unit bus, seven ambulances, and two special response units.

According to police, three of the five people hospitalized are suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with officials from the Fire Marshal’s office continuing their work on it.

This report by The Canadian Press was first Sept. 1, 2025.
