Police reported that five individuals were taken to the hospital; three of them suffered life-threatening injuries. In an update later on Monday afternoon, authorities stated all five were now listed in critical condition.

Jim Kettles, an operations manager with the Office of the Fire Marshal, informed reporters at the scene that firefighters from Richmond Hill had to rescue four individuals from inside the home.
