Provincial police are reporting a troubling pattern on Freeway 17 in Renfrew County.
The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), OPP Freeway Security Division (HSD) and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) noticed a troubling pattern throughout a joint site visitors initiative on the freeway between Renfrew and Arnprior.
The initiative was performed between Friday, March 8 and Sunday, March 10, 2024, resulting in 53 charges being laid.
Police say 39 of these charges had been for dashing and three had been for stunt driving.

Police say three autos had been additionally impounded, a suspected stolen automobile was stopped with a rolling block, two stage 2 CVSA inspections had been accomplished and 750 contraband cigarettes had been seized.
