The Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre has announced a donation of $2,350 from Docu Pet, the Town of Petawawa’s pet licensing partner.

According to the organization, this amount comes from contributions made by residents through pet licence purchases and online donations. Since 2020, they’ve raised over $7,750 in total.

Officials report that the centre looks after around 600 animals each year, many of which come in as strays or from homes that can no longer care for them. Pets with valid licence tags are often reunited with their owners more swiftly.

Tracy Mc Elman, the provincial operations manager, states that this latest donation will go towards veterinary services such as diagnostic testing and medications, along with necessary supplies for the animals at the facility.
