More school buses are operational than the day before, but a significant number remain cancelled in eastern Ontario on Thursday.
Due to road conditions, particularly snow in many areas, English school buses are not running across Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO), including Renfrew County’s Madawaska region and locations north of Kingston and Belleville.
(Tri-Board)
French buses have also been cancelled for a second consecutive day under the Consortium de transport scolaire de l’est (CTSE), as well as those serving schools in Brockville, Carleton Place, Almonte, Prescott-Russell, Marionville, Merrickville, and Kemptville under the Consortium de transport scolaire d’Ottawa (CTSO).
Buses are still operating in other areas, including both English and French services in Ottawa and the remainder of Renfrew County.
Generally, schools remain open even when buses don’t run. Be sure to check with your school or board for specific arrangements.
The local snowfall warnings have been lifted as of Thursday morning following a snowy Wednesday.
The Ottawa International Airport recorded nearly 14 centimeters of snow from late Tuesday through midnight Wednesday into Thursday.
