The City of Saugeen Shores is mourning the passing of former Port Elgin Mayor, Brian Cleaver.

In a launch, the city shared that Cleaver just lately handed away, and Saugeen Shores Mayor, Luke Charbonneau, has ordered that each one municipal flags be lowered to half mast to honour Cleaver till Wednesday, December 27.

Cleaver was born in Wales, and first turned Mayor of Port Elgin in 1991, serving his neighborhood all through many many years not simply as mayor, however on many native committees and social golf equipment.

In 2008, Cleaver received the City’s Heritage Conservation Award for his work with the Southampton Artwork College Restoration Committee.

“On behalf of all our residents, Saugeen Shores City Council extends its deepest sympathies to Brian’s household and pals,” mentioned Mayor Charbonneau.
