Storms may carry heavy snow to elements of the GTA and southern Ontario.
Atmosphere and Local weather Change Canada has issued snowsquall warnings for Durham Area together with Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering and Ajax. The warnings prolong to Cobourg and Belleville within the east.
There are additionally warnings for the Bruce Peninsula and the Parry Sound areas.
Lake impact snow with native accumulations of seven to 14 cm by late Thursday afternoon is predicted alongside the north shore of Lake Ontario. Accumulations of 10 to fifteen cm may fall in areas close to Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
Decreased visibility is feasible in heavy snow and native blowing snow.
The snow is predicted to begin Thursday morning and proceed into the afternoon.
Snowsqualls will shift south of the area later Thursday afternoon.
The storms may cause climate situations to range significantly; modifications from clear skies to heavy snow inside just some kilometres are widespread, Atmosphere Canada mentioned.
“Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow,” the warning said. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
The OPP is warning drivers in Northumberland County to keep away from all non-essential journey.
“Roads are becoming increasingly hazardous, and conditions may worse as the morning goes on,” the OPP mentioned on X.
The areas in crimson have snowsquall warnings and gray areas have winter climate journey advisories.
