PICKERING, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police say they’re investigating legal allegations introduced ahead by Pickering’s metropolis council.

PICKERING, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police say they’re investigating legal allegations introduced ahead by Pickering’s metropolis council.

OPP say allegations have been referred to them by Durham regional police in November, however they haven’t launched any particulars on the matter.

This comes after Pickering Mayor Kevin Ashe mentioned town’s integrity commissioner had made a criticism to police alleging that Coun. Lisa Robinson could also be aiding and abetting legal harassment together with her participation in “far-right” media.

Durham police mentioned final week they have been conscious of the problems and the investigation had been turned over to OPP.

Ashe introduced final week that the municipal council within the metropolis east of Toronto was transferring its conferences on-line over alleged threats from Robinson’s supporters.

The police investigation is the most recent improvement in an escalating battle between Robinson and metropolis council that started greater than a 12 months in the past.

The councillor has been tangled in a sequence of controversies and is at the moment in her second consecutive 90-day pay suspension since September.

Robinson, who was elected in 2022, has beforehand denied allegations in opposition to her.
