‘Behind the Timeline’
Nosworthy Smith was just 17 when the crime occurred; he’s described as a Black male standing at about five feet eight inches tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds with a tattoo located on his left elbow. Investigators believe he may have connections to areas like Driftwood community, Jane and Finch area and Brampton. An image of Nosworthy Smith was briefly shown during the news conference. According to Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act, suspects under age eighteen cannot be publicly identified without court approval; hence this image can only be circulated by police for five days. Mamers mentioned that they were aware of videos posted online by the suspect since the incident took place and that they are “taking steps with judicial authorizations to try to track him down.” “Unfortunately, once a video is posted we fall behind in tracking where he might be,” Mamers added. “He maintains an active presence on social media.”‘Need for Truth’
Mara Ferdinand made an emotional appeal directly to those who might know where her husband’s killer is hiding. “We-Mike’s family-are asking those protecting Tyjae to remember that my husband lost his life. Our family continues dealing with an irreplaceable loss and we’re asking for help from our community not out of anger but from a need for truth and accountability.” “Mike loved Christmas… This will mark our third Christmas without Mike and still there hasn’t been any justice,” she expressed.Source link
