Durham Police have found what could be human remains in north-west Pickering.

A significant police presence is on William Jackson Drive as the Forensic Identification Services unit looks into “what appear to be human remains.”

The road will remain closed to the public between Taunton Road and Earl Grey Avenue for a while, according to police.

Officers were at the location Sunday for what they described as an “active police investigation” before calling in the forensics team.

Updates on this developing story will be shared as they come in.
