Pickering City Hall and the town’s main library are closed on Friday as staff work to fix an “unexpected” issue with the plumbing system in the building. The problem, which needed “immediate repair,” was discovered on Wednesday, leading to the closure. The goal is to have repairs done by Saturday, but the official word from the city is that the building will remain closed until further notice. Staff will be available to assist residents via phone and email. In-person services won’t be offered at these locations during this time. “We appreciate your patience as we work to address this matter as quickly as possible,” the city said in a news release. “Updates will be shared at pickering.ca and through our social media channels.” For more information, contact the relevant department at City Hall or reach out to the Customer Care Centre.
