A man is currently in stable condition at a hospital in Toronto following a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in a residential area of Pickering.

Durham Police were called to the scene at 3:40 a. m. Saturday near Woodview Avenue and Hogarth Street, located in the city’s west end. Officers discovered that an individual had been shot, and a sedan was reported to have fled the area.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound. They also located a vehicle that had sustained damage from a bullet.

The victim was taken to a trauma center in Toronto where he remains stable.

Currently, police are treating this as an isolated event and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage, such as dashcam recordings, to reach out to them.

If you have any information regarding this shooting, please contact Det. Obront of the West Crime Team at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5858.

You can also send anonymous tips to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit www. durhamregionalcrimestoppers. ca; tipsters could qualify for a cash reward of $2,000.
