Early Saturday morning, two individuals were taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a shooting incident in Pickering, according to local authorities.

The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) reported that they received calls about the shooting in a parking lot near Liverpool Road and Kingston Road just after 1:00 a. m.

When officers arrived, they found two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. Both were quickly transported to a trauma center in Toronto and are currently stable.

Authorities describe the suspect as a male with light-brown skin. He is about six feet tall, has a medium to heavy build, and was last seen wearing a jersey-style shirt. Investigators state that he fled the scene in a dark sedan.

Police are urging anyone with information to step forward.
