PETERBOROUGH-The Peterborough Police Service and Ontario Fireplace Marshal are investigating after a deadly fireplace in Peterborough Tuesday afternoon.
Police say at roughly 3:40pm on October 1, 2024, an officer on common patrol was flagged down and made conscious of a residential fireplace at Rubidge Road and Townsend Road.
A 43-year-old Peterborough girl was discovered contained in the house by Peterborough Fireplace Providers and regardless of life-saving efforts from Fireplace and EMS, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The Peterborough Police Service and Ontario Fireplace Marshal shall be on the scene right this moment conducting their investigation.
