A young person is going through weapons-related charges following an incident at a residence in Peterborough, Ont., on Monday night.
Peterborough police say round 6 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a house. After they arrived, they discovered a boy had verbally threatened the girl and in addition struck her with a telephone and pointed a gun at her.

The teenager was discovered within the dwelling and brought into custody. A weapon was discovered on the property and was decided to be a toy gun, police say.
The 17-year-0ld boy from Peterborough was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a harmful function, and uttering threats to trigger demise or bodily hurt.
He was held in custody and is scheduled to seem in court docket in Peterborough on Tuesday.
