PETERBOROUGH, ON – A full crowd gathered on Saturday, May 16 for the first local racing event at Peterborough Speedway since last year’s Autumn Colours Classic. The New Country KX 105 2026 featured former track and series champions taking home checkered flags in five of the six main events.

Shawn Solomon, a past champion, won the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock race against reigning champion Alex Dallaire. Jacob Stavropoulos, Zac Cheng, and Ryan Armstrong completed the top five. Ryan Kimball led the Late Model drivers, with another former track champion Dan Mc Hattie close behind him in victory lane. Ollie Ferguson, Jacob Mercer, and John Owen followed closely behind.

Bailey Jacobs, another former title holder, took home the Super Stock feature victory over Colton Everingham. Myles Tyson – who also has a championship from Peterborough Speedway – was next in line followed by Donovan Price and Dan Archibald. Regular Doug Butler from the Autumn Colours Classic won the season’s first Switch Tire Mini Stock ‘A’ main ahead of John Lavalle, Matt Mc Grath, Cameron Mc Glashen and Dave Bragg.

The Gordon family continued their stronghold on the Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck results as former champ Kyle Gordon emerged victorious. Scott Jacobs, Adam Chatten, Shawn Murray and Stephen Bierworth rounded out the top five.

Dawson Drimmie, last year’s Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series champ returned to Dart Heating & Air Conditioning Victory Lane after winning his featured event. Cole Mc Fadden, Keaton Pipe, Adam Cuthbertson and multi-time titleholder Matt Haufe finished just behind Drimmie.

Grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM with racing starting at 6:00 PM sharp. This week will also include Kid’s Barrel Races during intermission.

“We’re looking to carry the momentum of our strong season opener through every event of the season,” said Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter J. P. Josiasse. “Our goal for every show is to help Central Ontario race fans make memories for life.”

Looking ahead to Saturday, May 30th Peterborough Speedway will host an exciting program including Bone Stock races along with Mini Stocks, Super Stocks and Late Models plus a visit from Outlaw Midgets this year! Kids rides will be featured during intermission each week.
