The incident was reported to the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Following an investigation, authorities announced that one individual has been charged as of Friday, December 2, 2022.
According to the OPP in Lanark County, Dillon Lowry, aged 33 and residing in Perth, has been charged with sexual assault. He is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, January 16, 2023.
The OPP did not provide details on when or where the alleged assault took place or whether Lowry knew the victim. When asked by Kingstonist for more information about Lowry’s arrest status or if he remains in custody, his job at the time charges were filed, and whether there was any violence involved beyond the sexual assault or weapons used during the incident, police declined to comment.
“As the matter is now before the courts, no further details will be released,” Acting Sargeant Joe Tereschuk said in an email.
