In a statement released on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, the town gave an update about the OLT’s discussions related to a proposed subdivision from CAIVAN (Perth GC) Limited, which is listed as Case Number OLT-23000534. After mediation led by the tribunal, council reviewed potential settlement options in principle during the fall of 2025. At that time, they expressed their plan to hold a public meeting to share more information with residents once the formal Minutes of Settlement were completed and moved forward in the tribunal process. However, the town clarified that this settlement still needs approval from all parties involved. Until those approvals are obtained and the Minutes of Settlement are finalized, they can’t release any details about the settlement or confirm when a public meeting will occur. The town stated they are prepared to conduct the public meeting as soon as all necessary approvals are finalized. Once everything is confirmed, they will make the Minutes of Settlement available to the public and announce a date for the meeting. The town understands that residents are looking for clarity on what happens next and reiterated their commitment to being transparent moving forward. They will continue to provide updates through the town’s engagement website as new information comes in. If you have questions about this process, feel free to reach out to Chief Administrative Officer Michael Touw at cao@perth. ca. You can find more information about appeals and hearings on the Ontario Land Tribunal website.
