Provincial police are urging a person from Drummond-North Elmsley to show himself in after a threatening incident within the Maberly, Ont. space.

Round 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, an individual reported that they had been threatened at a location on Bennett Lake Street and {that a} gun had been seen.

Officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrived and tried to cease a car fleeing the scene, however the driver averted quite a few cruisers and a spike belt.

Police have been additionally in a position to see and determine the motive force earlier than they received away and the car was positioned deserted a short while later.

The motive force and a passenger had fled on foot, however the passenger was rapidly positioned and arrested with out incident.

Thomas Hale, 35, of Tay Valley Township, has been charged with obstructing a peace officer.

Hale was launched from custody and is scheduled to seem in court docket in Perth on August 26, 2024.

An arrest warrant has been issued for William Scharf, 50, of Drummond-North Elmsley, and Lanark OPP are urging him to show himself in.

He faces the next charges:

Flight from a peace officer

Harmful operation of a car

The OPP believes this was a focused incident and there was no danger to public security.
