“I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while our staff transitioned online booking to the provincial system,” Dr. Miriam Klassen, the region’s medical officer of health, said Thursday in a press release.

Huron Perth Public Health was using its own appointment scheduling system until it had to go offline late last month due to an overwhelming demand for third doses.

Appointments for local clinics running through Saturday are still available only through Huron Perth Public Health’s old booking website and telephone line. For appointments starting Monday, however, residents will need to use the provincial system available online at covid-19. ontario. ca/book-vaccine or by phone at 1-833-943-3900.

Huron-Perth Public Health will continue to assist with booking vaccine appointments through its local phone line (1-833-753-2098) Monday to Friday between 9 a. m. and 3:30 p. m., officials said.

Some local pharmacies are also providing vaccines. A complete list can be found at covid-19. ontario. ca/vaccine-locations.

Huron-Perth Public Health is also gearing up to reintroduce walk-in opportunities at select clinics. These opportunities will be shared on the health unit’s website and social media channels.
